The library is located in the heart of Lisbon and is an open place for encounters and education. Using the library is easy and open to anyone interested.
You can register directly at the library. All you need is an ID card or passport. After registering, you will receive a card that is valid for one year. Use of the library is generally free of charge.
The following loan periods apply:
Books: 4 weeks
DVDs and magazines: 2 weeks
Renewals can be made online or on site. Current opening hours can be found on the Goethe-Institut Lisbon website.
A special highlight is “Onleihe”, the Goethe-Institut’s digital library. It gives you completely free access to over 35,000 digital media items
Onleihe is ideal for expats and migrants in Portugal, as it provides access to German literature without having to transport books.
